It's all about the song
Olin Murrell
My name is Olin Murrell. I am a singer/songwriter, living in Nashville, TN for almost 20 years. I moved here from Texas, where I was born, and worked the radio business for about thirty years. During that time, I also wrote songs and played them around wherever I could find a place to play. I have headlined many times at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival there, both as a guitar player in Tim Henderson’s band and on my own with my own band. I received the honor of being invited to play my song, “Time to Lay It Down (The Wall)” ON the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in about 1992, at the invitation of Jan Scruggs, who spearheaded the fund raising efforts to build the memorial. I moved to Nashville in 1998, and have rattled around with the usual success... no cuts but lots of bruises. I have recorded several cassette albums and produced one studio CD, which are currently in a compilation of old and new songs in a CD called “Home Made Songs.
